Ben UFO

Ben UFO, born Ben Thomson, is a prominent British DJ and co-founder of the influential Hessle Audio label, established in 2007 alongside Pearson Sound and Pangaea. Raised in London and later based in Leeds, his musical style draws from a broad range of electronic genres including house, techno, UK garage, dubstep, grime, and bass music. Notably, Ben UFO is respected primarily as a selector and DJ rather than a producer, with a reputation built on skillful mixing and breaking new records to diverse audiences. He became an early supporter of now-significant producers such as Blawan and Joy Orbison, regularly showcasing exclusive material on his shows, including a residency on Rinse FM. Across his career, he has released mix compilations like Rinse: 16 and Fabriclive 67 and performed at major venues and festivals globally, including Fabric in London, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Dekmantel in Amsterdam, and Freerotation. His commitment to innovative dance music over two decades positions him as a key figure in the UK electronic music scene.
